She is best known for her roles as Kate O’Brien in the ABC sitcom The Drew Carey Show, Jordan Sullivan in the NBC/ABC medical comedy series Scrubs (created by her husband Bill Lawrence) and Ellie Torres on the TBS (formerly ABC) sitcom Cougar Town (also created by her husband Bill Lawrence). Her other notable performances include: Seinfeld, Clone High (voice), The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and CSI: Miami. Born Christa Beatrice Miller on May 28, 1964 in New York City, New York, to she is the daughter of Bonnie Trompeter and Chuck Miller, and a niece of actress Susan Saint James and NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol. She has a sister and a brother. Miller worked as a child model for Wonder Bread commercial at the age of six months. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, and returned briefly to modeling, but soon took acting lessons, and gave up modeling. Her marriage to Bill Lawrence resulted in three children: Henry, William and Charlotte.
