Vimi was an Indian actress. She made her debut with B R Chopra’s blockbuster hit Humraaz (1967) opposite Raaj Kumar and Sunil Dutt. She also acted in films like Aabroo and Patanga. She appeared in the 1973 Punjabi film Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai. Her last film was Krodhi, released four years after her death in 1977.
Born in Jalandhar, India, in an orthodox Punjabi family, Vimi studied psychology at Sophia College. Vimi was married Shiv Agarwal, son of an Industrialist, with whom she had one son and one daughter.
Vimi’s life took a tragic turn after her wealthy industrialist husband, Shiv Agarwal, abandoned her. She spiraled into alcoholism, and a love interest reportedly pushed her into prostitution.
Within a decade, her career crumbled, leaving her destitute. Plagued by liver disease, financial turmoil, and loneliness, Vimi died penniless at the age of 34 on 22 August 1977 from cirrhosis of liver and her body was taken to crematorium in a thela hand cart.
