Born Theresa Penelope Raines on July 20, 1964 in Eugene, Oregon, to “environmentalist” parents Judy and Clarence Raines, she began working for an independent animal rehabilitation center for injured predator mammals at the age of 22 while working for her family’s trucking business. She was married to the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. They had two children, Bindi and Robert, before Steve Irwin’s death in 2006 due to a stingray accident. Terri became the owner of the Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland and preserved the legacy of her late husband by sharing his love of animals. In 2018, her and her family began starring on their own reality series called Crikey! It’s the Irwins.
